THE city’s three bus groups extended the service of 24 routes connecting with rail terminals Thursday.

Route 234 between Meilin Checkpoint and Shenzhen West Railway Station will operate between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Route 353 between Pingdi Bus Terminal and Shenzhen West Railway Station was extended to 10:30 p.m. Bus 352 from Foxconn in Longhua to Shenzhen Railway Station will now operate from 5:25 a.m. until midnight.

In addition, the companies will open three express bus routes during the post-festival period between Feb. 17 and March 10 to divert returning passengers from Shenzhen West Railway Station, the city’s transport commission said in a release Thursday.

The three express buses will connect Shenzhen West Railway Station with Longhua, Bao’an and Longgang bus terminals.

A total of 350 buses will be put on standby at theme parks and business centers during the Spring Festival period.

Temporary trains

Guangzhou Railway Group will operate 10 temporary trains from Guangzhou to Hefei, Zhengzhou and Yichang starting Sunday.

In the six days since the start of the Spring Festival travel season, Guangdong railway has carried 2.87 million passengers and operated 403 temporary trains.

The railway authority also lifted a name-based identity ticket rule, allowing travelers to buy tickets at designated counters with a certificate issued by police authorities.

In addition, holidaymakers can buy tickets with nine other types of identification, including residence permits, expired ID cards and driver’s licenses.
