On 2:00 PM, Dec, 24th, 2009, mutually hosted by Shenzhen Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association (LSCMA) and Chinese Academy of Sciences Guangzhou Branch Xinsiwei Research Center for Applied Psychology, the “Driver’s Psychology Safety Management Conference” was held in the multi-functional meeting room of LSCMA. The attendees included the safty administration personnel of the membership enterprises of LSCMA and the related staff from Xinsiwei Research Center for Applied Psychology.
Speaker of the conference, Dr. Pang Haifeng, from Xinsiwei Research Center for Applied Psychology;  analyzed several cases, such as “Nanjing 4.13 Event”, “Shanghai Hujin Highway accident causing 8 people’s death”, and found three factors that would impact driver’s safety which were physical health, driving skill and psychological status. It showed that among all traffic accidents, the rate of significant traffic safety accident caused by defect psychological status was over 70%. In the past, the psychological problem of the drivers was often neglected due to its easy concealment. In the recent years, because of its features of high happening rate and serious harmfulness, it is gradually winning generous focus of all walks of life.
On the conference, the speakers and the attended managers together studied the methods and standards of driver management and how to deal with the difficulties and problems that may be encountered in the real future work. The speakers pointed out that, in the traditional traffic safety management, the manager basically used a single and simple systematic management skill and the position of psychological safety of drivers in traffic safety management was frequently ignored. As for this situation, it is necessary to strengthen the manager’s recognition of the importance of driver’s psychological safety management, to start and perfect driver’s psychological safety management system and eliminate driver’s safety hidden trouble on time, thus to realize the objectives of improving the quality of life and work efficiency, preventing traffic accidents, and safe & polite driving .
The conference lasted for more than two hours; the analysis of speakers was wonderful and deep, and the participants raised questions very actively, making the whole  meeting filled with an exciting atmosphere. After the conference, the attendees and speakers started a further communication. The attended membership enterprises of LSCMA  showed their great thanks to LSCMA to provide such a good platform and study opportunity. They expressed that through this conference, they harvested a lot.
