Seung-Byung Na, the director General of investment Inducement of Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority in South Korea, visited LSCMA on March 5. Secretary General of LSCMA, Zheng Yanling, held in-depth talks with the guests.
Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority is the economy special zone of South Korea and it covers 2 provinces and 4 cities. Steel, chemical and logistics are serving as its pillar industries. There will be a series of activities to be held in the Economic Zone in the near future, like port seminar, Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea and Suncheon Bay Garden Expo2013. The director General, Mr Na sincerely invited Ms Zheng to attend these activities and Zheng expressed her interest in attending them and asked for more details about the activities and participants.

The two parties also talked of issues on trade and economic exchanges between China and South Korea. South Korea is one of the more developed countries in the world’s manufacturing field, among which automobile, semiconductor, shipbuilding, steel, mobile phone are world-renown. Great progress has been made on bilateral exchange between China and South Korea in recent years. South Korea is one of the countries who have better performance in industrial upgrading, meanwhile China is confronting a stage of industries transformation and upgrading and Shenzhen is one of the cities making greatest progress in this period. Secretary General of LSCMA, Zheng Yanling expressed that there are many aspects for both sides to exchange and learn from each other. At the same time, thorough talks and exchange about the details of Shenzhen Port and Gwangyang port were carried out during the meeting and both sides hoped to have more access to further cooperation.
