China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Transportation Fair 2011, supported by National Development and Reform Commission, and co-operated by Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, is being held on Oct 12 to 14 at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. More than 1200 exhibitors from more than 30 countries participate in this fair. Gao Hongfeng, Vice     Minister of Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China, and Jane Mücke, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development of Federal Republic of Germany attended the opening ceremony.

As one of the forums held during the CILF2011, the 8th China Air Cargo Summit is held on Oct 13. With the subject “The New Area of Growth of China’s Air Cargo Industry in the Post Financial Crisis Period”, more than 200 representatives of 72 airlines and airports from 34 countries attend this forum.

“The rapid development of China’s economy has posted a challenge to the cargo capacity of airlines. We have to improve the handling capacity of air cargo, guide the aviation logistics into the direction of modern logistics, consolidate the freight hub construction and perfect the connection between airport and other transportation methods”, Says Sha Hongjiang, General Director of Civil Aviation Administration of China, at the opening ceremony of the summit.  Huangmin, Director General of Transport Committee of Shenzhen Municipality, puts that Shenzhen Airport plans to develop into a multimodal transportation hub, which can combine aviation respectively with land transportation, railway transportation and sea transportation. This is also the development tendency for modern logistics.

“Logistics is one of Shenzhen’s pillar industries. Shenzhen aims to build into a global logistics hub city. We have to lay our emphasis on the development of aviation transportation in order to achieve this goal”, says Mr. ZhangWen, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government. As China’s economy develops, Shenzhen will further enhance its role as the core freight airport in Pearl River Delta Area and it will attract more and more international airports and logistics enterprises to do business here.

In the summit, representatives from governments and aviation organizations home and abroad introduce the current situation and challenge of China and its international air cargo. The international air cargo magnates discuss the revolution of airlines and its development direction in China. Attendees also introduce conditions and opportunities they face.
