The Belt and Road: the Opportunities and Challenges of the China-Europe Block Trains draws great attention, achieves substantial results

On October 13, 2017, the 2nd Sea-Rail Transport & Cross-border Transportation Summit Forum-the Belt and Road: the Opportunities and Challenges of the China-Europe Block Train was held as scheduled at Jasmine Hall, 6/F, Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Supported by the Transport Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, hosted by the Shenzhen Ports & Cargo Transportation Administration Bureau, organized by the Shenzhen Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association, the event brought together more than 500 industrial insiders from across the world.

Nine industrial experts and enterprise representatives of China Railway Container Transport Corp., Ltd., the Logistics Council of Chongqing Municipal Government, UPS, Latvian Railways, China Brilliant Supply Chain Service Co., Ltd., Uni Logistics Inc, the International Road Federation, Shenzhen Neptune Logistics Co., Ltd. and SIGIS, as well as representatives of government supervision departments were invited to deliver speeches. From different perspectives, they looked into the opportunities and challenges of China-Europe trains. Then panel discussions were held on China-Europe train service providers, train operators and sea-rail transport agencies and users. Port of Hamburg Marketing Regd. Assn., Latvian Railways, the Logistics Council of Chongqing Municipal Government, EVR Cargo, SIGIS and CIMC High Technologies Co., Ltd. participated in the panel-1 discussion.

China Brilliant Supply Chain Service Co., Ltd., China Railway Container Transport Corp., Ltd., HAO International Logistics Co., Ltd., Wuhan Asia-Europe Logistics Co., Ltd. and Hunan Xiangou Express Co., Ltd. participated in the panel-2 discussion.

Shenzhen Sinocean Logistics Co., Ltd., GVT, the Supervision and Clearance Department of Shenzhen Customs, COSCO Shipping Logistics Shenzhen Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Pingyan Multimodal Company Limited participated in the panel-3 discussion.

The discussions focused on key problems arising in the operations of China-Europe trains, such as how to balance east-bound cargo and west-bound cargo, the reason and solutions for cargo delay at cross-border transport ports, cold chain demand and solutions, etc. For the purpose of addressing enterprises' substantive problems, the discussions were arranged tightly, earning unanimous praise from the enterprises present.
